So, you made it to a brand-new year. With this comes a brand-new opportunity to change up your daily routine and add some spice to your life! If you have been looking for a sign to try out golf – this is it! Start preparing now so that when the weather warms up you are ready to roll out on the course with a fresh skill set. So, you know you want to start golfing, but do not have any knowledge or background on the sport. Don’t fear, we’ve got you covered! Here are some great first steps to beginning on your golf journey:

  • Golf lessons. First thing is first, let’s get started on lessons. While learning from a family member or friend who is familiar with the sport may be helpful, a professional golf trainer will be able to assist you on small moves that your family member or friend may not notice, such as your posture, alignment, grip or the power of your swing. Professional trainers are licensed to help you start on your game play and improve along the way.
  • Golf clubs. Not sure where to get some clubs? If you do not want to break the bank, try searching for some great-condition used clubs to get you started. Or, even better, get fitted for some golf clubs that will be altered to help fit your very own personal swing.
  • Research, research and research! The only way to truly improve your golf game is the experience you get first-hand on the course, however, researching the rules and regulations will absolutely help you to get started. Watch some golf tournaments, check out different professional players, and look into tips and tricks on how to improve your game. Remembering all of this key information on the course will help you to perfect your skills!
